Hope Pearls, the world's largest pearls


Pearls is said to be the most sought after gems in the world. It is considered as the world's oldest gems in the world because of rarity and being stand out for thousands of years.

Have you heard the famous "Hope diamonds" that reminded of the "Titanic movie", the Black Diamond of Sierra Leone in Africa and the legendary history of a cursed gem?

The most famous pearls and the largest natural saltwater pearl ever discovered was the "Hope Pearl". It is named after it's owner , henry Philip Hope. It was discovered in the 19th Century and weighs about 90 grams or (1,800 grains or 450 carats). The Hope is a white, drop-shaped blister pearl measuring 2X4 inches,and ranging in color from greenish-gold on one end to white on the other.

More recently, a silver coloured pearl weighing a whopping 170 grams was found on the seabed off an island of Myanmar (Burma).

Currently residing in the British Museum of Natural History, the Hope Pearl was once owned my Henry Philip Hope, the one-time owner of the Hope Diamond.

Hope Pearls is one of the famous pearls remarked of pearl history and still admired today.

Pearls can be made into a jewelry accessories. And according to pearlmarket.com,
Pearls range from under 1mm to 20mm giants (mortgage your house if you want a strand of these). For round pearls, the most popular size sold today is 7mm to 7.5mm.

That was huge... but its not look like a pearl... irregular shape of pearl usually less value.. but that big..? definitely more than a regular sized pearl..

i dont like it... i prefer the small ones because its more luring than the one in the picture...

I thought that the largest pearl ever found was came from the Philippines in 1934 and weighs 14 lbs. diamonds
